My fiancee and I already have a location for where we want our wedding ceremony to take place; however, Disneyland has always been a part of our lives since the time we first met 8 years ago, and we wanted to have a Disney wedding reception. When I checked online, their weddings come in packages including an on-site ceremony. I was wondering if it was possible for us to just book the reception and do away with the ceremony?

My fiance and I are looking to get married their in June 2011 after he gets done his tour of duty in Afghanistan. I wanted to hear from some people who have actually had weddings there. How are the consultants and planners? Did everything go smoothly for you? We are from New Jersey, so all of our guests will be traveling to Florida. I love Disney so much so this suits me perfectly. Any information on Disney Weddings would be great! Thanks in advance!!

I was at a bridal shop trying on dresses (hubby wants me to wear a dress for our renewal of vows). The sales associate brought over some wedding dresses without a train on it. One of the dresses was what I would call a fairy tale princess dress. Lots of lace, huge hooped skirt, long lace sleeves. I stepped out and OH MY GOD, I looked more like the ugly step-sister. All of that lace, my large bone frame… just made me shudder with disgust!
I then tried on a very simple dress, no lace, no hooped skirt. It was a very simple, emerald green, capped sleeved, empire waisted dress. The dress made my green eyes stand out. So I have pretty much decided that any dress that I buy for the renewal, will be made with very simple lines.
So ladies. Have you ever tried on a wedding dress that looked like a fairy tale on the hanger, but made you look like the ugly step-sister?
I’m looking forward to hearing your stories.

My fiancĂ© and I are getting married in mid-July and we booked a honeymoon at Disney World back the first of March. We both just recently graduated from College and are seeking jobs. The problem is neither of us has a definite job yet and the final payment for the honeymoon is due this Thurs. May 28. We have contemplated putting the final payment on her credit card and if we don’t get jobs then cancel the trip and the payment will be refunded, all except $100 dollars of the deposit i payed in March. The final payment is around $1,700. The problem with putting it on her card is that her mother goes through her mail and credit card statements and she is not able to make decisions for her self even though we are both adults and out of college. Also if we were to just cancel and rebook it if we get jobs before the wedding it will cost us more to book now at the cheapest hotel at disney and what we have booked is at a mid-line resort with all meals included, we actually saved $600 just by staying an extra night than originally planned. So I know this is long and I may have lost most people by not but for those that are still here, do you have any suggestions on what we should do? Or how we could pay for the honeymoon? We are confident that we will both have jobs before the wedding because its still a month and a half off. One last thing, I could put it on my credit card but my card is just a student card and my credit line is not big enough. Thanks for any suggestions!

PLEASE NOTE: We all know that Will and Liz are going to get married in a “romantic” CHEESY wedding.—–WHY?, you ask.
–BECAUSE…it’s Disney, and ever since Snow White, EVERBODY who was under Disney’s name found their “true love.” It’s all bogus to me but just “take a stab” at answering my question.
