Wedding Locations (florida Ish Area)?

8 October 2009 2 Comments

I’m looking to get married in the US (I’m from UK) but I’m finding it hard to find a suitable location and wondered if someone who knew the area could help please?
I’m looking for a small ceremony site, preferably a wedding chapel (I don’t mind if it’s within a hotel resort) I’m looking for somewhere a little bit special with a bit of luxury
I don’t really mind where it is in the US, however I would like to do Disney World and the other tourist attractions with my wedding party and so would ideally like it within commuting distance (probably max 1 hour ish) from the tourist area.
Hope someone can help

Commercial wedding chapels tend to be a bit .. well… commercial and they are usually situated on a main road next to a gas station or something.
For a Florida wedding Disney World is hard to beat – check out their website. If you are only planning on having a few guests with you then this might be the best option as some of the other venues might feel a bit empty with only a few of you. The prices aren’t cheap but include admission to the parks and your hotel room.
We were in St Pete recently and saw a party going aboard the floating wedding chapel which looked brilliant. I have listed the website below. You could combine a few days at the beach and then go to Disney for the last bit of your holiday.
The Celebration hotel near Disney is nice and does weddings. I don’t think they have got a chapel but the ballroom is by the lake and would be a wonderful setting.
Pick out any luxury hotel in the Disney area (and there are quite a few) and you will find that most of them do weddings
If you need to book multiple hotel rooms for your guests then consider renting villas for them which will work out cheaper especially if you will be there for more than a week.
    Happy planning !

If you want a bit of luxury, try a destination wedding in South Beach.
