We planned the big wedding & ended up canceling the whole thing & flying to Maui with 2 friends. It was MY dream. We snorkled in the morning & got married at Sunset on the beach with our friends as witnesses. They bought us a wedding cake that had surfing hula dancers on it LOL! It was great. We changed & went for dinner & drinks at the hotel's restaurant on the patio & had a great night. Wouldn't changed that experience for anything!!

At this point my dream wedding is any wedding! But if I really Dream, My wedding would be as follows-
A nice ceremony at the church my family attends, its pretty big and great looking inside. Leave with hubby in horse drawn carriage, meet wedding party for pctures by the river and other destinations. Take limo to reception. First dance will have a nice surprise ( i know its not even cool anymore, but id do it!) The reception would be held somewhere nice, but not over the top. My dress for the ceremony and pictures would be poofy, but i would change at the reception into a more comfortable dress. I really would just want to be with the people I love and enjoy myself.

my dream wedding would be an early summer, night wedding. I want live moonflowers everwhere. They have gorgeous, huge white blossoms that only open up during the night.
I want little glass lantern lights strung up in the trees, and votive candles lining the aisle. The center pieces at each table will be large glass bowls of water with floating candles.
I saw the most beautiful idea, at a friend of a friend's wedding last year. She had put white christmas lights under her white table cloths (around the sides of the table) for a very pretty and magical effect for the tables.
I want the whole glowing, hauntingly beautiful night effect.

My dream wedding is where the groom and our families and friends are there, happy, and healthy.
But if you want details: I would fly everyone to Hawaii, get married on a private beach at sunset, and then hold the reception in an open-air (indoor/outdoor) room with white sheer curtains that sway in the breeze. We would have orchids, plumeria, and white lillies everywhere- wrapped around the columns around the reception room, on the tables, everywhere. There would be a live hawaiian-style band that played music as I walked down the aisle-(which would be a bed of tropical flowers). The breeze would blow through my hair and veil and the sand would be between my toes as I stood there in an Eve of Milady wedding gown. My bridesmaids would wear classy pink dresses that were island inspired-(light fabric that drapes nicely), each with a flower tucked behind their ear.
We would have a live pianist to play "clocks" by Coldplay-(which I had at my wedding last January). And then we would have all kinds of fabulous bands play-(if we're going for the gold here, I'm thinking Coldplay could actually be there, and so could Robert Earl Keen- my husband loves him, as well as O.A.R.- they sing the song that got us together in the first place, and Etta James would be there too, as well as some of our other favorite bands). We would have the biggest cake you've ever seen with tropical flowers cascading off of it made by the Cake Divas in Texas. At the end of the night, we would have a huge fireworks display!
Each guest would have their entire trip paid for by us-(like I said, it's a dream wedding, not a real one). As they got to their rooms, they would find a basket with beach towels, sunscreen, toiletries, flip-flops with our wedding date on them, a beach bag with their personal monogram on it, beach toys for their kids, and $1,000 spending money to make their trip as enjoyable as possible.
The rehearsal dinner would be held on a lanai-(an outdoor seating area), and it would be a lauau. There would be hula dancers, guys that danced with fire, the whole thing. Now that I think about it, I would hire the Polynesian Cultural Center to perform at the wedding as well.
I would have a second wedding dress, designed by me and made by Vera Wang, for the reception. It would be more form-fitting, but still easy to dance in.
We would dance and party with our families both before and after the wedding, and everyone would have a wonderful time! I would bring nannies with us, so that when parents wanted to have a little romantic time-(hey, it's Hawaii), they could have a break, and they also wouldn't have to leave the reception. We would have a huge brunch at the Sheraton in Waikiki-(they have the best brunch EVER!) the day after the wedding.
The most important part though, would to be married at the end of the day, and for my family and friends to be there, be healthy, and to be happy.
In real life, I got married in a wedding that was more than I ever dreamed of here in Missouri. We got married on January 24 of this year, I had a beautiful wedding dress by Mori Lee, and one that I designed myself that I had made for the reception. I had a white satin cape with fur trim, and a fur muffler to match. I also had ballet slippers, as well as white fur boots-(sounds scary, but turned out really cute!), and a fabulous pair of heels. We were married in a chapel, and the entire room was completely surrounded by candles. I carried white and pink roses, which had lots of crystals in them, my bridesmaids wore elegant black dresses, and pink rhinestone breast cancer pins that said "Love" in honor of my Mama, who passed away from breast cancer less than 2 weeks ago. (We held the wedding in January to make sure she could be there. She wasn't well enough to travel, so we had it here in my hometown.)
My colors were black, white, and pink. We held the reception in a BEAUTIFUL ballroom that was all white, except for the hardwood floor, with 2 story white colums that were floor to ceiling that framed the floor to ceiling windows that overlooked our downtown area. Each place setting had a pink gerbra daisy on it, and the centerpieces had vases with branches with crystals on them which were surrounded by flowers inside the vase, and the vase was surrounded by candles. We had crystal candleabra trees, and the whole room was aglow with candles.
My theme was snowflakes. The cake was 4 tiers frosted white, with a black ribbon band around the bottom of each tier, and a pink ribbon in the center of the black ribbon on each tier. There were sparkly edible snowflakes cascading down the cake like it had been snowed on. A pianist played during the dinner hour, and after dinner our DJ kicked things into high gear, pink lights were turned on overhead, our DJ's lights were going, and we had the biggest, best party I've ever been to! Everybody danced, drank, and had a great time all night long, and it was the si
