I’m not one to usually ask questions but I just can’t decide which song to dance with my daddy to (yes I’m 24 and still call him that, haha) I had originally thought of the song “Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman” I originally thought of this song as I’m a Disney princess lover, and Cinderella has always been my favorite. In addition I’ll be getting married in a castle in Scotland with a very renaissance/fairytale feel to it.
But lately I’ve had the song “God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood” in my head. Every 4th of July my dad and I would look most forward to this song when it would come on the soundtrack to the fireworks we would watch every year. I am very patriotic and my dad is a vet. In addition I’ll be having my wedding in Scotland like I just said because my fiance is Scottish and I’ll be living there after. So I thought it would be a cute way to pay homage to my country somehow.
So finally.. my question! Which one if you were at a wedding would you rather hear? Is Cinderella to normal and over done? Or is God Bless the USA inappropriate for a wedding and would some how offend all the Scottish guests.
I will be speaking with my dad about this, obviously, but he does much better after I have done all the research I possibly could on the subject. So if you could help me that would be fantastic.
