I say to each his own so I would not call it stupid, just unconventional and nothing is wrong with that. BUT, warning here! If you get married at the courthouse you may never get the wedding of your dreams! My ex brother-in-law convinced my sister to marry him in Vegas and have her dream wedding later. He never let it happen!

The Wedding lasts one day and will only be a memory. The marriage (supposedly) lasts forever and will provide you with many, many, many memories. How you get married is not important, the marriage itself IS. I personally would not plan that kind of wedding, but that’s your business.

Well, are your friends and family able or even willing to fork out the money to attend? I think it’s a waste of money. Your marriage and the life you build will be where your memories come from. You will remember your wedding, but it’s only one day of many. You will also be limiting yourself on how many people will be able to share the moment with you, because not too many people will be able to afford it.
I’ve been married 9 years. I can count on one hand how many times I have watched our wedding video. I have looked through the photo albums with my kids, but you can have beautiful pictures taken just about anywhere. I remember my wedding, but it isn’t the main focus of the memories I have.

Yeah, I think it’s stupid to plan a wedding that your fiance isn’t in favor of and that will cause a financial burden to your guests.

No, it’s not stupid. But it will probably be expensive and you don’t want to start a marriage off neck high in debt from the wedding.

there are a lot better things to spend your money on. I am married and don’t regret that I didn’t waste a lot of money on a ridiculously expensive and childish wedding.

it’s stupid to get married before your wedding…….do yourself a big favor and get your college degree first…..
