It’s Never Too Late for a Fairy Tale Wedding!
It’s been almost 7 1/2 years and three children since my husband and I vowed to love and cherish each other at the happiest place on Earth. Never a slacker on details or design, Disney World delivered the most wonderful wedding I had ever seen – and it was all mine! With their cracker jack wedding coordinating team I never had to stress about anything. Decisions on everything were mine to make but couldn’t have been easier. There will never be a moment of regret in our decision to have our wedding at Disney World’s Wedding Pavilion.
I can never get married for the first time ever again but Disney has created the opportunity to recreate some of that magic. Whether you were married for the first time somewhere else and this is your first fairy tale wedding, or you’re like me and want to relive it all, Disney Vow Renewal packages have envisioned something just for us. With three different packages to choose from, Disney once again gives you a one-of-a-kind experience.
The Escape Vow Renewal package is perfect for a small, intimate gathering with up to 18 guests. The package includes a small ceremony with cake and a champagne toast. Floral arrangements for the bride and groom are provided, as is a musician for both the ceremony and reception. If you have more guests or just want a more personalized event, the Wishes package is for you. Everything from the ceremony to the reception are designed by you, with your wedding coordinator’s help. Your reception is hosted at a Walt Disney World location of your choice. The absolute top in flair and design comes in the Coture package. Your entire experience is designed by T.V. personality and leading entertainment expert David Tutera. From the bride’s grand entrance to your sensational departure at the end of the event, David Tutera will give you an experience like no other.
Since no two weddings are alike, even among the same packages, prices also vary. There are minimum requirements for each wedding and Disney seasons are taken into consideration. Each package does require a minimum night stay at a Disney World resort as part of your honeymoon package. There are all sorts of wedding embellishments that can help reach the minimum package requirement, such as photography or having Disney characters at your reception. You can book up to 8 months in advance for Disney’s Wedding Pavilion or 12 months in advance for any of the resort locations available. All you need is your valid marriage license and Disney will handle the rest!
Having personally dealt with the wonderful team at Disney for my own fairy tale wedding, I can attest to the quality and unique experience that only Disney can provide. The basics are there but the whole wedding is up to you and with the help of your wedding coordinator it will be the wedding of your dreams.

How We Met Stories »
Last year I posted my version of how Scott and I met. I figured I should go ahead and post his version, which I think is better anyway. Enjoy! – L
Friday afternoon December 15th, Mayra, a good friend of mine, called me at work asking me if I wanted to go to the movies that night with some friends of hers. Jokingly I asked her, “Are any of them cute?”. She said, “Well, actually there is one of my friends that works at the Studios that is going and she’s cute.” So I decided to go and meet them at the movies at 9:00 p.m. Mayra actually met me outside the theater so the others could save us seats. I met up with Mayra and we proceeded into the movie theater. This is where I first set my eyes on a beautiful woman (Lindy) that had her blonde hair pulled back with her cute little glasses on. Mayra sat down next to Lindy then I sat next to Mayra. Mayra then introduced me. We both said “hi” to each other and politely shook hands. The very first thing that I really noticed about her was her smile. She has a smile that can brighten any room. After that introduction that’s all we spoke the rest of the night. Oddly enough, the movie we watched was “What Women Want”. During the movie I could hear her cute little giggles. For some reason I just new she was a really nice person. After the movie we all walked our separate ways, except Mayra and I. I walked with Mayra to the parking lot, she asked me what I thought of Lindy. I
said that she was cute and I would really like to go out on a date with her. Mayra said that she’ll give her a call to see what she thinks about me. The next day I received the call from Mayra saying that Lindy wouldn’t mind going out on a date with me. So after I got Lindy’s pager number, I paged her. When she returned my page, I asked her if she’d like to go out sometime to get a bite to eat. We made a date for December 20th at 7:30 p.m. I was so nervous when this day finally came. I went to pick her up, coincidentally her apartment was right across the street from Celebration (the community I lived in at the time). After I arrived and she opened the door, I was mesmerized. She had her hair down this time and that big smile of hers was overwhelming. I also noticed that she had the most amazing blue eyes. I still remember what she was wearing, a purple glittery sweater and black pants. She just looked simply amazing. I sat down in her living room getting to know her dog, Hannah, while she continued getting ready. While I was sitting there, I just kept saying “Wow!” to myself and wondering how I was so lucky going out on a date with her. From the minute we got into my car and started talking, I knew there was something there. During our dinner at Bennigan’s, there was none of that awkward silence. We did a lot of talking and laughing. We saw eye-to-eye on a lot of things. I truly know what “chemistry” is all about now. The dinner was quickly coming to an end, but I didn’t want it to, so I asked Lindy if she wanted to go see a movie. She accepted and we went to see Charlie’s Angels. I figured since she wanted to continue the date she thought things were going well too.
After the movie, I took her home and told her that I hope I made it to a second date. She said for me to call her. The next day at work, all I could talk about is that I found “her”. Just after that first date I knew that Lindy was “the one”. I had already thought that I could spend the rest of my life with this person. So, I made it to a second date, third date, and on our fourth we had our 1st kiss. Already at this stage I wanted to tell her that I loved her and wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. From this moment on there was only one or two times that we have missed a day without seeing or at least talking to each other. She is the most precious, thoughtful, wonderful, intelligent, and beautiful thing to come into my life. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her. I have to give a very special “THANK YOU” to Mayra for bringing our lives together. – Scott

Typically a wedding favor is a thank you gift that is given to all of your guests. It acts as a thank you and a keepsake or memory of the event. Therefore you will want to tie the wedding favor into the theme as much as possible. So if you are having a fairy tale wedding theme then using a fairy tale wedding favor is a great idea.
When people think of fairy tale wedding the most common image is from Disney. For example one can not help but to think of the wonderful fairy tale of Cinderella. She is able to meet her dream prince after the ball by fitting into the glass slipper. It is hard for any true romantic to not love this fairy tale and want to portray the beauty and simplicity of a fairy tale in their own wedding.
Fun Ideas for a Fairy Tale Wedding Favor
Anything to do with castles – Castles are often the most commonly thought of item for a fairy tale wedding. The great thing about castles is it does not go back to any one movie in particular but the whole theme of fairy tales.

Glass slippers – This is obviously from Cinderella who wears glass slippers
to the ball. Then at the stroke of midnight she rushes out of the ball to make it home before she turns back into her normal self as instructed by her fairy godmother. She drops the glass slipper and the prince finds it and sets our on a quest of sorts to find the beautiful women that he danced with at the ball.
Stage coaches – This is another favor that is from Cinderella. Her fairy godmother takes a pumpkin from the small vegetable garden outside of Cinderella’s house and turns it into a carriage for her to ride in to the ball.
